About Thorntons.co.uk Popular Products and Services?
Thorntons Limited is a British chocolate manufacturer owned by the Italian confectionery company, Ferrero. It was established in 1911 by William Joseph Thornton and Joseph Thornton, his father, in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. The company's primary focus shifted to Belgian and Swiss-style chocolate in sets after the Second World War.
The company's products include bonbons, chocolate bars, toffees, and fudges. However, the company faced trading difficulties in 2009, with 35% of the sales occurring in the seven-week period before Christmas, and 10% shortly before Easter Sunday. In June 2015, the Italian firm Ferrero purchased Thorntons for £112 million.
Customer reviews on Trustpilot give Thorntons an average rating of 2.9, with 67% of the reviews being 5-star. Some customers have praised the company's customer service, while others have expressed disappointment with the delivery of their orders. One customer mentioned a metallic aftertaste from the chocolate, which they attributed to the use of sorbitol.
